OK, how about we all stop hyperventilating?

Everybody’s seen the photo–*President Joe Biden on a luridly red backlit stage with two Marines in the background. Everyone’s listened to the highlights of his “speech”, if not listened to the entire pitiful ravings of an old and senile man. And looking around the blogosphere, it seems that everyone is losing their mind over it. “Biden’s declared war on half the country!” “Biden’s next step is boxcars!” “Biden has turned the Marines into Star Wars Imperial troops!” “Biden was on the Grassy Knoll!”

Alright, the last one is me being silly.

I don’t know what group of Biden handlers thought this was a good idea, but they ought to get a medal. They’ve succeeded beyond anyone’s wildest dreams in stoking the flames of MAGA resistance. They have gotten people riled up and talking about taking action.

Exactly. As. They. Planned.

Is it time to start shooting the bastards yet? No, but some range time wouldn’t hurt. It might let some steam off.

Don’t rise to the bait. They’ve been trying since January 6, 2021 to get someone-anyone–on the right to take the bait and solve their Joe Biden problem for them. Or shoot up an FBI office. Anything they could use to start a real, honest-to-God crackdown on the right. Don’t snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Do. Not. Take. The. Bait.

Seriously, just don’t. This is a setup. They’re playing the Alinsky game on us yet again.

“Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have.”

Snake Plisken says “Hi”.

Stop acting as if they could pull this off. They can’t, and if you think about it, you’d see they can’t. Who is going to keep the joint running if they put all the people that actually know things and do the work on boxcars? Besides, where are they going to take us? Manhattan Island Maximum Security Prison? They are trying any and everything they can think of to change the predicted outcome of the midterm elections. They know they can’t simply do away with us, but they want you to think they can do it, and folks are falling into the trap. Instead, you need to run an Alinksy game on them.

“Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”

And most especially…

“Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. There is no defense. It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage.”

We need to pin *President Joe Biden to the wall, and then we need to be merciless in our ridicule. It will drive them even crazier than they are. That will open up a few more sets of eyes and make the Left a less successful enemy, while potentially getting them to do something really stupid that we can take hard advantage of. Remember, angry people don’t think clearly. That applies to them as much as it does to us.

Or…

Get the picture? Use the tactic that’s most effective now. Violence of any sort isn’t going to be it. No, we won’t win the contest with memes, but “A good tactic is one your people enjoy.” We just need to be careful in determining when it has become a drag.

  1. There is a problem here. You have clearly identified the problem we have if we take the bait, but that’s not really an argument against defending yourself against violence with violence. It may be a good argument for defending yourself against clear, present, and credible *threats* of violence, with violence, but even this is problematic:

In the Gulf of Tonkin, an americal naval vessel tried to bait the VC into firing opon their vessel, which would then be used as casus belli, but the VC didn’t take the bait. So the vessel fired upon the VC. They *still* didn’t take the bait. So they just lied, and said they did, as McNamara confessed in his book years later.

When they’re good and ready, they’ll just say we took the bait, and the result will be indistinguishable from if we had. So… *not* taking the bait, just means we delay the inevitable until they are good and ready for it.

There are *moral* and *ethical* arguments here that are *huge*, and each of us must give serious and long deliberation to the matter, for we are not hypocrites, and the truth matters to us. But “don’t take the bait” is not a viable defense in a “jail house” environment. It just delays the inevitable, and escalates it by causing our opponents to become more invested.

We’re screwed either way. Think hard and long with your own values, and draw your own lines, with the clear and certain conviction, which hard and long thinking affords. Then aquire what you need to defend yourself.

  2. I agree with you, and also with the first comment. The hard part is knowing when to hold, don’t take the bait, and when to fight back. You’re right about ridicule, and speaking out.
    Good post.
