Sunday Reading

Reading time is still limited, so I went for “short and pithy” this week.

“The Little Red Book of Cowboy Wisdom” is a collection of sayings, song lyrics and anecdotes from our cowboy tradition. I reads easily and I find myself nodding my head often.

“A man, a horse, and a dog never tire of each other’s company.”

There’s a phrase, “bumper sticker philosophy”, that’s meant to deride such things. In my experience, it’s normally used by the crowd who
also missed the point of Ronald Reagan when he said “There are no easy answers, but there are simple answers.”

“When you are throwing your weight around, best be ready to have it thrown around by somebody else.”

There are folks running around today who would better themselves by reading this book.
