She wasn't made to take them off 'cos they look like guns, though that may have been the ostensible reason. She was made to take them off (and finally throw them away when even the baggage handlers (known for their readiness to throw just about anything around in the hope of breaking it) wouldn't handle them) because they are one of the ugliest, vilest and many others ests pair of shoes ever.
Good on the TSA guys, protecting American from dreadful taste in footwear since not very long, really.
