Victory is within sight

Earlier today the North Carolina legislature passed HB 937, a gun bill that repeals prohibitions against carry in restaurants serving alcohol, state parking lots, venues that charge admission and much more.  It also reins in some of the worst abuses by sheriffs of the Jim Crow-era pistol permit purchase system.

A lot of credit goes to our state firearms rights organization, Grass Roots North Carolina, who has the details.  It’s worth noting that the governor must still sign it (or at least ignore it for 30 days) for it to become law.  Hopefully he wants to be elected to a second term in office.
