How much is your privacy worth?

(Apologies for the prolonged absence. Migraines again/still. I’ll go into that some other time, perhaps.)

We have an ever-decreasing amount of privacy left to us. Between Big Government and Big Business, we’re getting squeezed to death, or at least to the point of surrendering what little privacy we have left. Some people/corporations have said we should get over it, but time (if not their stance on privacy) has rendered them inert. Serves ’em right if you ask me.

Recently I sat through an online presentation on why I should cough up $2000 (discounted at the end to $495–what a bargain) for a course on managing my online privacy. Uh, no. I know a little about how this privacy thing works, and I figure I could do better than that.

In the course of my research, I found PrivacyGuide.org. While there’s more to it than just a few apps, applications, or app add-ons, it’s a good starting point, and it’s free (although they do accept donations).

You’re welcome. šŸ™‚

  1. I try to do as little as possible in public. Very few comments, no original posting. Few online payments. Cash purchases if I can. No subscription services.
But I expect Iā€™m fooling myself.
