On this day in 1944, The US, Great Britain, Canada, Poland and others landed troops on the shores of Normandy, France. Like the one pictured above, many of those who rose before sunrise didn’t live to see sunset. They paid the ultimate price for the freedom that we are allowing to be taken from us a bit at a time.
