Well, it seems the BATFE has declared shenanigans

(Found on Facebook–How the dickens is it I’m finding out everything gunnie on freaking Facebook for crying out loud?)

Townhall.com is reporting that the boys in F Troop are playing fast and loose with Administrative Procedure Act as well as the Constitution.  While we’ve never been able to nail them on the Constitution thing, we may actually stand a chance on the Administrative Procedure Act–by Ghu that’s bureaucracy, and that’s important, dammit!

It seems that a month before the BATFE announced their desire for a “framework” to declare M855 ammo as armor piercing, they decided to go ahead and remove the exisiting exemption for it from the 2014 ATF Regulation Guide (published in January, 2015–how’s that for government efficiency).  Yes, they banned it before they asked for public comment.  Under the Administrative Procedure Act, that’s not kosher.

No one is quite sure what this action means.  Is M855 production now illegal?  Or is the ATF’s ban illegal?  Or are both illegal?  Yep, an already confused situation is now even more confused, and not amazingly, it took a government agency to do it.

The BATFE is out of control.  It has been for some time.  Republican law makers, it is time to dance with the ones what brung ya.  Reign the BATFE in, hard, now.  Reform this nation’s bullshit gun laws, now.

If you, like those of us in North Carolina, have a “rabid dog with a bad attitude” state gun rights group (waving at you, Grass Roots North Carolina), join it and get active.  They’re doing a lot for you at the state level.  At the national level, Gun Owners of America and yes, you haters, the National Rifle Association are the ones leading the charge.  You have to take the price of a few boxes of ammo and join up with all of them.  Stop worrying about being on some “list” (you already are) and get over getting the junk mail.  Join up.  Get active.  Donate money (lobbying costs money).

It’s time and past time that we grab whoever needs grabbed wherever they need grabbed and put the fear of the voters into them.  It’s our rights, our freedom, our guns.  I don’t know about you, but I’ve been fighting this battle in one form or another for 30 years, and I’m tired of fighting the same battle over and over and over.  I’m ready to see this one put to bed, at least for a few decades.

They’re giving us the chance.  Let’s not pass it up.
