Tab Clearing

It’s been a long while since I’ve poked my head up around here. I’m fighting with this weird sort of “lack of motivation” thing. I’m fine once I get started, it’s the getting started that’s the issue. I feel kind of burned out, but that really isn’t it either.

At least I’m motivated on this fine high summer afternoon (96o air temp, 78% humidity for a heat index of 133o) to stay in the air conditioning and clear out some browser tabs. Most of these have been hanging around so long I forget where they came from.

The first is Legacy Firearms Company, purveyor of holsters. If you’re into the gun thing, you know that you can spend a considerable amount of time and money looking for the right (or right now) holster. I’ve heard good things about these folks but haven’t bought one myself. Maybe the P365 needs a treat.

Old Maps Online. People often think of old maps as historical curiosities, and while they can be, they can also hold a treasure trove of information for someone looking to learn about their area, or a potential bugout root, or maybe a disused mine for whatever reason.

Battle Sight Zero: Who has It Right? In the spirit of the notorious 9mm vs. .45 debates, we have this article on what battle sight zero you need. As you might expect, “It depends…”.

The Deagle 2025 Population Global Forecast. Unless something really bad happens, which is always a possibility, it’s beginning to look like the forecast was wrong. I’m good with that.

The Tactical Professor is Teaching the Snub Nose Revolver. For me, the J-frame is the gun that works best with my body for concealed carry. This is how to run that gun.

If you’re a semi-auto person, try The Semi-Auto Grip. There are many schools of thought on how to best grip a pistol, this is one of them.

Something I need to get better at is Finding Your Tribe – A Primer On Connecting With Fellow Preppers.

Of course, finding that tribe might get difficult. Population Collapse: Fertility is More Limited by Age Than Young People Realize. Yes, yes it is. We had our kids in our early 30s, and it was a struggle. I can’t imagine how it would have worked out if we’d waited until our 40s. Not well, I suspect.

High and Tight: Tourniquet Application in the Direct Threat Care Phase A valuable how-to. Pro Tip: You should have torniquets everywhere. I have them in every vehicle, in the house, in the basement. I have one I grab when I go into the yard to work with any tool that cuts. I feel I need more. Side note, this placement is different that my first Stop The Bleed class. I may need a refresher.

Counter Ambush. Older and more applicable to the LEO crowd, I believe there are some things that us chickens can tease out of it.

Self-Defense and the Law: Know What to Say to the Police After a Good Shoot. Rating right up there with 9mm vs. .45 or leather vs. kydex, Massayd Ayoob has his take on what to say and when to STFU.

How to Forgive (But Not Forget). A topic that has troubled me over the years. It still does, but maybe a little less.

Civil War Comes to the West, Part One and Part Two. Disturbing, and…yeah.

And on that happy note, the tabs are mostly cleared.
