After all of the EF-Holy Crap level tornadoes in recent weeks, you might find yourself considering some sort of shelter in which to ride out that on-coming EF-5. But how do you know which ones are worth the money (as in, are sturdy enough to save your bacon)?
The National Storm Shelter Association can probably help you out. These folks oversee the testing and certification of storm shelters, among other good works. The group is an outgrowth of pre-fab storm shelter testing that was done at Texas Tech in the 1990s.
