Well, if one can believe the lame-stream media, it’s all over for Hillary but the cryin’. And the recriminations, and the blame and so on and so forth. At least we are spared another Clinton co-presidency, at least for this election cycle. I fully expect her to be back in some way next time around.
That leaves us with one highly objectionable socialist bastard (Obama), one objectionable almost-a-Democrat (McCain), one loon (Ralph Nader) and one kinda-sorta OK guy without a hope (Bob Barr).
I suppose that McCain is a little better than Obama, but I still just can’t bring myself to support him. That could change as we move toward November, but for now I’m not able to get past his historical positions on some gun issues, illegal immigration and so on. I’m not sure I can hold my gag reflex in check long enough to vote for him just because he’s marginally better than Obama.
Bob Barr is interesting, even though he’s also got those history problems (in other areas). Like McCain, he’s supposedly seen the error of his ways, in his case so much so he’s went over to the Libertarians. I’ll have to look into this some more. I know some of the most libertarian of the Libertarians despise the guy, so perhaps he may be more to my taste than Libertarians usually are.
