CDC Guidence on masks in the event of pandemic flu
The CDC has issued “Interim Public Health Guidance for the Use of Facemasks and Respirators in Non-Occupational Community Settings during an Influenza Pandemic“.
Short version is that you might want to use a surgical mask in crowds, and an N-95 type mask when visiting those who are sick.
