William R Forstchen’s One Second After is coming to a movie theater.
One Second After is the story of what happens in a small town in the North Carolina mountains over the period of a year after an EMP attack. This is the only book that ever had me with tears in my eyes reading it.
And there’s a trailer.
I read this and several other apocalyptic novels many years ago, and it really does open your eyes. We live somewhat remotely, and skills and tools have been important. We’ve had blackouts and learned to deal with it, but long term would truly cause a breakdown. Everything relies on electricity. As I get older, l’m slower and tired, and dealing with no power would be much harder.
